CS/EE/ME 75, 2010-11 - Course Schedule

Fall 2010

Team integration: get new team members at Caltech and SCI-Arc integrated into the project and establish teams and linkages to make sure that the project runs smoothly (target 30 Oct 2010)
Design development: work out a clear, coordinated description of all aspects of the design, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems (due 23 Nov 2010).
House model/tour: Provide support and input as needed for virtual house tour and physical model (SCI-Arc lead; due 7 Jan 2011)

Integration of SCI-Arc and Caltech activities (people, goals, schedule, deliverables)
Bring new team members from diverse backgrounds and skill levels up to speed quickly
Baseline designs for some subsystems not yet in place

Document and refine baseline specifications to insure we can get maximum points in competition (15 Oct)
- Provide full capability with net-zero energy consumption for 80th percentile day
- Provide zero-net energy consumption with reduced capability on worst case day
Establish detailed cost and performance metrics for each subsystem (30 Oct)
- Establish performance specifications for each team/subsystem, tied to competition rules
- Determine cost targets for each team/subsystem to hit $250K target
Develop performance models demonstrating that specifications can be met (15 Nov)
Document all components on team wiki + project manual (23 Nov)
