Q: What is a stable system?
A: Depending on what kind of stability you specify, a stable system has different meanings. For asymptotic stability, it means all nearby initial conditions converge to the equilibrium point. For simply stability, it means that all nearby initial conditions remain nearby of an equilibrium point.
