Q How many controllers should be plotted for problem 3c?

A You want to contrast the effect on the step response from varying \( \rho \) for two fixed \( q_1 \) values, so constrasting requires you pick at least two values of \( \rho \) for these plots. In addition, contrast the effect on step response from varying \( q_1 \) for at least two fixed values of \( \rho \).

If you use subplot to display the x and \( \theta \) step response in a single figure, you can do the above contrast within four figures.
