The Pade approximation to use should be verified to present the same phase as the delay term &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;e^{-\tau s}&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;; an approximation of order 2 or 3 will be sufficient. Increasing the order of the approximation will add too many poles and zeros  to the transfer function of the process. &lt;br /&gt;
